Exceptional Pet Care in Whitby Since 2004
Our 1700 sq. ft. hospital opened its doors on November 19th, 2004. Today, we provide a wide range of medical and surgical pet care services for both dogs and cats. These services include routine preventative health programs with annual examinations and vaccine reviews, dietary counseling with extensive selection of prescription diets specifically tailored to your pets needs available on site, medical diagnostics done either with our on-site lab or use of an off-site laboratory, microchip implantation and identification, routine surgical procedures for example spay and neuters as well as emergency surgery.
Our clinic also provides radiography as a diagnostic tool for both gastrointestinal and orthopedic ailments. Our clinic is outfitted with cages in varying sizes for both recuperating cats and dogs as well as runs for larger breed and an isolation area for our sickest friends. Our clinic is designed with easily sanitized materials and is routinely disinfected to help prevent the spread of infectious disease.
Our hospital, like all veterinary clinics in Ontario, is routinely inspected by The College of Veterinarians of Ontario (CVO). This ensures that our clinic meets specific regulated requirements set out by the CVO.
Licensing of your pet for the Town of Whitby can also be done at our facility.

MEET OUR VETS
DR. DAN
Dr Dan Baturensky grew up in Quinte West where he was an active participant in 4H, a group that introduces students to agriculture, farming, life, and values. This is when he developed his desire to help animals.
He pursued this as a professional education at the University of Guelph and graduated from the OVC in 1998, and specialized in feline and canine patients. In 2000, Durham Region became his home and he opened Baldwin Animal Hospital in 2004, and a second location, South Whitby Veterinary Services, in 2013.
He has been a participant annually in the Whitby Santa Claus Parade since 2005. Baldwin Animal Hospital celebrated its 20th anniversary in November 2024. He is a resident of Brooklin, Ontario, with his wife Christina, and five sons. His passion for retro computers (Amiga), wood working, and spending time with his boys are his greatest loves. His close knit pet circle are his special friends Jojo, Aurra, Pippin, and Aredhel.
DR. KEIRA
Dr. Keira McTeer graduated from the OVC in 2025, but her journey with our clinic started long before that. Since 2019, she's been a familiar face in a variety of roles and is now thrilled to be part of the team as a veterinarian.
For as long as she can remember, Keira has dreamed of becoming a vet - a passion driven by her love for animals, science, and helping others. She's especially passionate about empowering owners to make informed decisions about their pets' health. Keira is fear-free certified and committed to creating a positive experience for both pets and their people.
When she's not in the clinic, you can find her soaking up the sunshine with her fiancé, Ross, and their dog, Franklin, paddle boarding, crafting, reading a good book, or looking forward to her next travel adventure.
Dr. Keira is excited to be part of your pet's care team and looks forward to helping them live their happiest, healthiest lives!
